n3421015_40734525_88081A peculiar day in the life of an intern shown through a sequence of photos:

Brian, an eccentric producer at Good Morning America calls and says something to the effect of, “This is going to sound like a crazy request, it might be the weirdest one you’ll ever get as an intern, and I’ll give you a gift or something. I travel a lot you know, and I want you to check for me if there is any more of my cream cheese left in the refrigerator. If it’s there, check the expiration date. I need to know if I should buy more cream cheese or not. If there is only a scoop left, I will need to buy a new one. I will call you back in five minutes and you can let me know.”

Yes, eccentric.
Which explains the following:

Cream cheeese: check
Expiration date: Feb. 23, 2009 – check

Brian calls back 5 minutes later:
“Right after I got off the phone with you I was next to the grocery store anyway so I just bought a new jar of cream cheese – never mind!”

But that doesn’t mean I was left giftless!

Yay, cute (: But then the “fun” ended and I went back to logging all of the following tapes:

The good news is the weekend producer, Nicole, told me I could go with her to the Spirit Awards for independent films in Santa Monica in two weeks!

Really, really excited!

A happy day. Today, January 20, 2009, Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States.

Another beginning: the first entry of this blog (:

“Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions – who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.  What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them – that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply.”

“… So let us mark this day with rememberance, of who we are and how far we have traveled… at a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people: ‘Let it be told to the future world… that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive… that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it].’ America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our harship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what stroms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”
